Choosing who will capture our big day!

29 Oct

When planning a wedding, a big decision is: who will you choose to take the photos? And, if possible, who will capture the day on video? – As, time after time, we brides are reminded that the big day “goes in a flash!”.  Having beautifully captured moments will help time and time again to stimulate those sentimental emotions, so getting this right can be vital.

From attending many family and friends weddings, we had a huge list of vendors we could choose from but I knew that there was only one photographer I really wanted to have!

Chiko Photography! Chiko, the name of the owner and founder of Chiko Photography, founded the company 2005, bringing a fresh outlook to the British market by combining his artistic and unique touch with a polished, professional edge.

Chiko’s aim is to tell ‘the story’ through his eagle-eyed pedanticism and damn, do his albums look sharp! I have known him since 2013 and couldn’t think of anyone better to capture our lifelong memories!

Next on our list was the videographer but we just weren’t sure on who to go with -we had a huge list of vendors, all with impressive highlight videos and testimonials but no obvious way of telling who was right for us.

After having a few meetings we were advised by Chiko to go with Denee Motion. He’d worked with them in a number of occasions and feels their philosophy and methodology compliment his own and would be particularly suitable for our occasion.  We did our homework and found that Denee Motion Boutique Wedding Films & Stills claim to have moved away from what they believed was the ‘traditional and cliché wedding videography’ back in 2008, to a more modern and client/brief oriented approach, looking after every tiny detail in order to give their films and photos an extra human touch.

We are so happy that we have chosen these two companies to capture our special day as their work is truly amazing.

New Years Resolutions…

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hope you celebrated in style! So as 2012 has officially started we look back at 2011…..

2011 was the year of earthquakes and phone hacking…. The year we lost Gary Speed, Amy Winehouse and Knut The Polar Bear…. The year that Manchester United got trounced by their noisy neighbours, New Zealand finally won the Rugby World Cup and (according to the BBC) women did nothing in sport… In our cinemas Harry Potter finally defeated Voldemort, we met Arthur Christmas, Paul and The Green Lantern and enjoyed Friends With Benefits…on TV Freddie Starr ate my camel toe, we evicted gypsies from Dale Farm but didn’t evict one from the Big Brother house and we were asked to choose Red or Black. In pop music The Stone Roses reunited, Lady GaGa went a little crazy because she was Born This Way and former X-Factor stars were everywhere.

MY NEW YEAR RESOLUTION

So I have decided my resolution for 2012 is to take one picture every day for the whole year…In total that makes 366 photos as 2012 is a leap year!!

Not only will I be taking photos I will be blogging about them too so every week for 2012 I will be doing a 7 day photo take of why and where these photos are taken and why. Very exciting times ahead!

I will also be donating to charity every month of 2012 I will choose a different charity and donate to! If you have any ideas on charities that are very worthwhile please leave me the link at the end of this blog.

HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope all your dreams and wishes for the coming year come true!

We will meet again…on the next blog :)
